Our Afternoon Tour is designed to meet that moment — lively, social, and perfectly paced so you can enjoy every stop without feeling rushed.

You’ll visit 4 boutique wineries and enjoy guided tastings at each stop. Along the way, you’ll be treated to a personal charcuterie plate pairing to elevate one of your tastings.

With 12–16 wines spread across the afternoon, the experience builds naturally — from your first glass to that point where the energy lifts, conversations flow, and everything just clicks.

Throughout it all, our world-class tour guides keep things seamless and engaging — creating an atmosphere that feels fun, welcoming, and far from a typical “tour.”

By the time it wraps up, you’ve had a full wine country experience — and still have your evening ahead of you.

*Important Notes: The individual charcuterie pairing is designed to complement and elevate your wine tasting, but it is not intended as a full meal. Guests wishing to enjoy a meal, consider choosing our all-inclusive Lunch or Dinner Tours.

This is a public tour, and you may be joined by other guests. Our comfortable vehicles seat 14–24 passengers. Groups of 12 or more may qualify for a private tour; however, to ensure a fully personalized experience, we recommend booking one of our dedicated Private Tours.

The Afternoon Tour shares the same vehicles with our popular “Dinner Tour” so we will drop you off at the end as soon as we get everyone to the restaurant.

Tour Breakdown

To help give you a better idea of how your day will look and help you in your planning process, here is a timeline of how our Afternoon Wine Tour generally plays out.

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Pickup Time

Our tour guides are so excited to start the days adventure, so they want to make sure to show up on time for the first pickup.

    They will start their pickups in Niagara Falls and then pickup anyone in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We will reach out the evening before to coordinate your pickup time.

2:00 pm

We Arrive At The First Winery

Bring on the wine! We begin the tour visiting one of our premier winery partners to explore some of the flavours our iconic wine country is known for.

    You'll taste 3-4 different wines and learn about their unique characteristics and what went into making them. Fun will be had and then we'll head out on route to our second stop.

3:00 pm

Winery #2 - Gourmet Cheese & Wine

This is the perfect time for a little mid-afternoon snack. Our second winery provides a gourmet charcuterie pairing during your next wine tasting.

    You'll get a chance to try 3-4 more wines and pair them with premium meats & cheeses and really hone your taste buds as you level up your sommelier skills.

4:00 pm

Our Third Winery Visit

After a short drive, we continue our tour at another excellent winery.

    You'll learn, laugh, and you'll love the carefully selected wine samples as you begin to become a bit of a wine connoisseur with all your new found knowledge.

5:00 pm

We Arrive At Our Last Stop

We like to end things with a bang—making the final stop as memorable as the first.

    This visit can include the "save the best for last" wine tasting, a "lets switch things up" special seasonal offering, or whatever else our expert wine guides have up their sleeves. Whatever happens, you will not be disappointed!

Quick Detour

Our Afternoon Wine Tour shares buses and wine routes with our popular "Dinner Tour" guests.

    We only need 15 minutes to get them dropped off and seated for their included dinner (it's close to our last wine stop) and once that's done we head out right away to get your back to your accommodations.

Drop Off

We’re so glad you spent the afternoon with us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back again.

    We aim to return everyone with plenty of time to relax and prepare for the evening’s festivities.

  • Can I select which wineries to visit on the tour?

    Our expert tour guides select the wineries for you, based on the planned tour path and availability. Rest assured, you will visit the very best that Niagara wine country has to offer.

      We have fantastic relationships with our winery partners and they really come through for our guests and always deliver a VIP experience.

  • Can we bring a cooler with us on the bus?

    Short answer, no. The Cellar Door Experience is fun, entertaining, and classy. We are not a "booze cruise" and we like to make sure each tour goes off without a hitch.

      Plus, we've designed our tours to minimize time on the bus so you can spend more time tasting great wines with our winery partners. Trust us, there will be no shortage of food or drink!

  • How many people are on the tour?

    Our vehicles carry 14-24 passengers. We will depart for the scheduled tour regardless how many people have booked for the day.

      You may end up making some new friends on a shared tour experience, or you could get a private tour if no one else has booked with us at the same time as you.

  • What happens if it rains?

    Rain or shine, Cellar Door Wine Experience is always an excellent time.

      Please dress comfortably and wear weather appropriate shoes.

  • What about my dietary restrictions?

    Vegetarian and Vegan options are available upon request. During the booking process, there is a section that asks you if you have any dietary restrictions. Let us know there.

      Once your booking is complete, our phones will ding and we will be notified of any special requests. We will get to work right away to make sure you have a safe & delicious dinner option.

  • What if I don't want to / can't drink on this tour?

    No problem! We offer a $30 discount on "No Alcohol Tickets"

      Simply select "No Alcohol Ticket" during the booking process for an automatic $30 off the standard ticket price.

    At the last moment (literally an hour before the tour) we called to see if there was a tour we could do that day. The man who answered the phone was on it and within an hour we were on the bus (that came right to our hotel) and on our way to Niagara on the Lake. Our tour guide, Karen, was exceptional! Knowledgeable, kind and funny. She provided a lot of history about the region, took pictures of the group throughout the day and did whatever she could to make the day perfect! The wineries we went to were excellent choices with very nice staff. Overall, a great experience!

    Excellent and well organized from beginning to end. Doug, our driver and guide took great care of us. Everything was pre-planned for us at each vineyard and the food was delicious.

    My partner and I had an amazing time on our tour. It was our first one, so we both didn’t know what to expect. Our tour guide, Doug, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and funny. He made it very easy to get comfortable from the start. The van was very comfy and accommodating. It was a smooth ride throughout the day, which, if you’re drinking all day, is VERY necessary haha. We will definitely be coming back and choosing Cellar Door as our tour guides!

    Dwight was a great guide. The transportation was new and clean. He picked four great wineries that all did a fantastic job. We would use them again.
